Fern Fables is a hand-painted watercolor collection by Northern California artist and IOD Stockist Lexi Grenzer, also known for the best selling Whispering Willows transfer. Inspired by watercolor botanical infused folk art, the set features birds, botanicals, and decorative motifs with a whimsical touch.
It’s well suited for trays, vases, and small décor projects. Sally’s Design Tip: Start with corner or frame elements to establish structure, then add grouped focal motifs—clustering similar elements like three birds together or a row along the base—and build from there, layering in smaller details once your main composition feels balanced.

IOD Decor Transfers are designed in scale and motif to be appropriate for decor. Use them to add a unique touch to your furniture projects, wall art or accessories. Pressure sensitive, you apply them by rubbing them onto the surface. For best results of transfer, we recommend applying over Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint. Ensure a long lasting result by using Annie Sloan's Clear Wax for the protection and lustre.
IOD has made many of their new Decor Transfers “buildable”, by adding opacity, (so that they look good when they overlap) and making the designs themselves more versatile, so that they work visually, when used in combination. Since the designs are more opaque than previous versions, they will show up well against dark colours as well as light.
- Distressable ( for complete customization, sand to your liking!)
- Buildable ( more opaque so they can be layered with other transfers, as well as show up against darker colours. Because sometimes one is just not enough, and a maker needs to make it their own.)
- Improved backing to help prevent transfer mishaps.
- Easy to use. These beauties transfer onto your project surface like butter.
IOD Décor Transfers are a little delicate, need a little extra care, but are so worth it. With a little instruction, they are easy to use and add instant style to your projects.
