Mixed feelings

I can't make up my mind about Emerald. Not the quality, the quality is top-notch. Farrow & Ball is the only fine paint you can buy in Canada, Little Greene and Edward Bulmer not being available here. But Emerald is not a complex colour, it is bright and happy, and I mostly buy Farrow & Ball for its depth and complexity and the atmosphere it can create in a room. I chose the colour for the mud room, thinking it would make a cheerful transition to nature. And have the choice of using Emerald on the shelves and painting the walls in Salon Drab, or a lighter neutral, which would look very effective, but it would be a bit modern for my taste. I might just colour drench the mud room in Emerald and see how it feels to live inside a jewel.
